E-waste is any electrical or electronic equipment that’s been discarded. The government of India categorizes e-Waste under the broad class of hazardous goods. Electrical and electronic equipment usually have a rated life cycle. This period is typically the time required for the technology to change significantly to render the product obsolete. Usually, the manufacturer’s warranty period is noted as the lifecycle of electrical and electronic equipment. Beyond this time, the product is supposed to be replaced by a new one. However in India even after the expiry of the warranty period people continue to use the electronic equipments.
